ABSTRACT

In the unsupervised domain adaptive transfer learning process,domain-independent features lead to the degradation of model segmentation performance, but there is no effective feature selection method for transfer learning segmentation model at present. To solve this problem,a general feature selection module for transfer learning was proposed based on optimal transport, which can be applied to various unsupervised domain adaptive image segmentation models. In this module, the optimal sample subsets of two domains are selected by weighted optimal transport of segmentation accuracy, and then the features of sample subsets are subjected to entropy regularized optimal transport,so as to obtain a descending list of similarity between two domains to remove domain-independent features. The universal feature selection module is applied to three unsupervised domain adaptive models to solve the problem of Covid-19 image segmentation, which improves the model performance to a certain extent. © 2022 Editorial Board of Jilin University. ABSTRACT

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) continues to be prevalent all over the world and mutant strains are constantly appearing, the application of vaccine is still an important method of epidemic prevention and control. Mucosal immunity plays an important role in preventing severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) invasion. The currently marketed injectable COVID-19 vaccine mainly activates humoral immunity, but it is difficult to induce effective mucosal immunity, and it is unable to prevent pathogen invasion in the early stage of virus infection. Compared with injection vaccination, inoculation of the COVID-19 vaccine through mucosal routes such as nasal or oral can closely imitate the natural infection pathway of the virus and induce a comprehensive immune response. It is an ideal choice for rapid and extensive vaccination because it has the advantages of simple and convenient use, easy to achieve self-management of vaccinators, reduced demand for professional medical personnel and so on. In this paper, we summarized and analyzed the products and technical platforms of COVID-19 vaccine inoculated by oral route, in order to provide reference for related research work. © 2022, Chinese Pharmaceutical Association. ABSTRACT

Electromyography has been extensively used in a variety of fields. By using feature extraction to detect and analyze the surface EMG signal of Electromyography, muscle fatigue caused by daily life workout could be detected more timely. Here we intend to utilize this feature of using feature extraction on electromyography to offer professional advice for at home work out due to the deduction of outing caused by COVID-19. In this work, multiple time window (MTW) features have been used to distinguish the surface electromyography (sEMG) signals between muscle fatigue during arm movements by using Python. The sEMG signals are monitored from the biceps muscle of 3 healthy subjects. 4 window functions named boxcar function, hamming function, blackman function, and kaiser function and 24 features are extracted. 4 classifiers named Decision Tree, Random Forest, Support Vector Machine, and Naive Bayes are used in this research. The classifier using MTW features compared with the classifier without MTW feature. The Random Forest classifier has the greatest accuracy of 95.16%.

ABSTRACT

The appropriate immune pathway is the key to induce effective immune protection. Compared with traditional invasive immunization methods such as intramuscular injection and subcutaneous injection, nasal immunization has the advantages of convenient use, high compliance of vaccinators and induction of more comprehensive immune response, thus has attracted the attention of researchers in the epidemic of COVID-19. This paper briefly introduces the mechanism and characteristics of nasal immunization, summarizes the COVID-19 vaccine products and technology platforms regarding nasal immunization, so as to provide reference for related research and development work.

ABSTRACT

The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic is accelerating in the world. Although the epidemic has been basically controlled across China at the present stage, the domestic epidemic prevention and control situation is still complex and grim. Field epidemiology played an important role in the prevention and control of infectious diseases during this epidemic and the past epidemics. In order to improve the teaching content of field epidemiology in undergraduate medical education, and to explore the practice of training in epidemiology with the present situation, this paper explored the teaching practice of field epidemiology investigation based on COVID-19. This study will help to enhance both the ability of students from theory to practice, and the adaption of high-level talents in field epidemic under the new situation. © 2021, Publication Centre of Anhui Medical University. ABSTRACT

As the national key discipline and the initiator of oral and maxillofacial deformity group, the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery persisted in teaching, designed a novel teaching form combining theoretical knowledge and online software practice according to the characteristics of our discipline and carried out "cloud training" via the National Oral Telemedicine Education Platform. Ten lecturers, 325 theoretical students and 50 practical students were investigated by questionnaire in the present study with questions focusing on the geographical distribution and composition of personnel, etc. The results showed that the online course covered a wide range of students and achieved high acceptance and satisfaction rate. The first online software operation course was conducted in an orderly manner, with timely interaction between teachers and students. The students were able to master the design process skillfully. This "cloud training" has achieved good results, but there are still a series of problems that have yet to be resolved, such as network stalls and protection of intellectual property rights. Under the new form, the exploration and analysis of the new mode of online telemedicine specialist education will provide some practical reference for the National Clinical Research Center for Oral Diseases to carry out online telemedicine teaching in the future.
